They face the same problems as most women, but they managed to break the glass ceiling. Jolanta ?y?ko, PhD is the rector of the Vistula School of Hospitality, Siti Nugraha Mauludiah – the ambassador of Indonesia in Poland, and Chitra Devi Ramiah, the ambassador of Malaysia.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we invite you to meet these special successful women. The event under the slogan: The role of women in social life in different cultures. Family, work, education will take place on
March 10, at 12:00 pm, in Hall 2A.
The role of women in social life cannot be overestimated. However, they still need to fight for gender equality, economic justice, respect and security.
The full and equal participation of women in all aspects of social life is a fundamental human right. However, there is a serious problem with this – because of patriarchal norms and traditions. And so, women’s representation in legislative and executive authorities is still insufficient worldwide. Among bosses of the 500 largest global companies, only 7 per cent are women. There are only 53 women out of 900 Nobel laureates.
The ‘Women in Work Index 2019’ report confirms progress towards greater equality for women in working life. However, they still earn less than men.
Therefore, gender equality is still a big challenge.
We cordially invite all interested to a fascinating discussion
