Develop a professional who is able to to nurse a healthy or sick person in family and community at different levels of personal health care: social care homes, sanatoriums and at patient’s home (integral nursing) at all stages of the nursing process; demonstrate critical thinking, social responsibility, independence, ability to work in a team, a holistic approach and science-based practice.

Know the national and international health policy provisions.
Know the limits of professional activities and responsibility, apply provisions of health legislation and professional ethics in nursing practice, and provide consultations within the limits of their professional competence.
Apply knowledge of natural, biomedical, social and humanitarian sciences in the systematic assessment of the person, family and community health and decision-making in nursing practice.
Perform scientific applied nursing research, interpret, analyze, summarize and present results as well as apply them in solving nursing problems.
Assess the nursing needs of a patient, family, and community, and plan nursing activities.
Perform and evaluate nursing actions and procedures, provide arguments for decision-making in professional situations.
Prepare patients for instrumental tests and therapeutic interventions.
Recognize life-threatening conditions, evaluate them and respond to them accordingly, provide emergency medical aid in the case of acute conditions and injuries.
Train healthy lifestyle skills of a patient, family, and community, organize and implement health education and counseling according to health education needs.
Apply the principles of nursing administration in nursing practice.
Communicate and collaborate with patients and their family dealing with personal health problems, work in teams with colleagues and other experts in implementing person-centered care.
Express fluently and emphatically both orally and in writing, communicate efficiently in Lithuanian and foreign languages, recognize the diversity of people and cross-cultural differences.
Critically evaluate professional nursing practice, understand the importance of lifelong learning, make independent decisions and evaluate their impact on nursing practice situations, using expertise and taking responsibility.
Collect and organize patient care-related information, use modern technology and information systems in nursing practice, treat confidential information properly, apply learning strategies, conduct nursing research and dissemination of nursing science and practice.
